Jen and a group of friends set out to hike the Appalachian Trail. Despite warnings to stick to the trail, the hikers stray off course—and cross into land inhabited by The Foundation, a hidden community of mountain dwellers who use deadly means to protect their way of life.
This reinvention trades backwoods cannibals for something colder: a self-governing wilderness where every step off the path narrows your options. The dread builds slowly, then erupts in bursts of ruthless violence. What unsettles most is not the gore but the logic behind it—a world with rules you were never told, punishing you for crossing lines you couldn't see.
