A post-apocalyptic story about a botched U.S. government experiment that turns a group of death row inmates into highly infectious vampires, and an orphan girl who might be the only person able to stop the ensuing crisis.
The Passage trades jump-scares for a slow institutional rot, the dread of watching a sanctioned experiment slip past every safeguard. Its horror is procedural and human: predators kept behind glass, a child asked to carry more than any child should. The fear here is inevitability, the sense that containment is already failing.
