After a young couple witnesses a gruesome highway accident, they soon realize they did not leave the crash scene alone, as a demonic presence called the Passenger that won't stop until it claims them both turns their van life adventure into a nightmare.
Passenger straps you into a moving coffin and never lets the engine idle. Øvredal turns open highway into a trap, where every mirror glance and roadside stop tightens the noose. The dread here is directional — something is behind you, gaining, and the van offers walls but no escape.
