Light Turner finds a supernatural notebook and uses it to mete out death, attracting the attention of a detective, a demon and a girl in his class.
This is dread born of temptation rather than jump scares. Wingard trades screams for a creeping unease as absolute power curdles into paranoia, each name written carrying the weight of consequence. A leering demon lurks at the edges, but the real menace is watching a mind rot from the inside out.
