A traveling couple end up in an abandoned Nebraska town inhabited by a cult of murderous children who worship a demon that lives in the local cornfields.
A remote stretch of Nebraska becomes a slow-tightening trap, where the corn stands taller than sense and the silence is filled with childish devotion to something older than reason. The dread here is arid and unglamorous, built on isolation, marital friction, and the wrongness of children who have chosen sacrifice. It grinds rather than startles.
